FREIMUN

Delegations

During our weekly debates and workshops, delegates prepare to participate in Model United Nations conferences. There, they have the opportunity to embody a diplomate in a specific MUN committee over the course of multiple days, while debating and negotiating resolutions.

FREIMUN sends delegations to conferences across Germany and Europe. This aligns with our overall vision of bringing Freiburg students into spaces of international politics and diplomacy. All Freiburg students are eligible to join one of our delegations. As we strive towards making MUN more accessible to students from diverse backgrounds, FREIMUN covers a portion of the participation fees for our members.

Copenhagen, Denmark

CBSMUN26

From March 12th-15th, 2026, seven students from the University of Freiburg travelled to Copenhagen, Denmark, to participate in THE Nordic MUN conference. For four days, 200 students from across the globe engaged in stimulating debates at the renowned Copenhagen Business School.

The FREIMUN delegation consisted of five delegates in the International Press Corps, the COP and the ECOSOC committee. In addition, two of our members served as chairs to the COP committee and to the International Press Corps.

Karlsruhe, Germany

KAMUN25

In December 2025, nine FREIMUN members joined the Black Forest Summit, our partner conference in Karlsruhe. For many members of our delegation, this conference was their first MUN experience at a university level, making it particularly rewarding and exciting.

Our delegates participated in four different committees, including COPUOS, futuristic ASEAN, the G20 and the UN Security Council. We are particularly proud that three of our delegates received awards for their performance during KAMUN25.

Constance

LakeMUN25

In June 2025, FREIMUN members attended our partner conference at Lake Constance, where MUNTUM and FREIMUN took over the International Press Corps. During the months leading up to the conference, the chairpersons, who functioned as Editors-in-Chief, trained and prepared delegates from both associations. At the conference itself, our delegates embodied journalists who reported on the news and happenings in the other committees. Their articles and interviews uncovered key developments of the committees and stirred up the debates.

Heidelberg, Germany

HDMUN25

To kick-off the summer semester, a small FREIMUN delegation joined our partner conference in Heidelberg as chairpersons and delegates in the European Council. As this committee was organised in cooperation with the Institute for Translation and Interpretation (IÜD) at the University of Heidelberg, all speeches were interpreted simultaneously - just as in real life diplomacy.

Our highlight of the conference: the Heidelball hosted at Heidelberg's stunning castle.
