United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees

Topic: Ensuring the Protection and Basic Rights of Refugees Fleeing the Sudanese Civil Conflict

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) safeguards the rights and welfare of refugees and stateless persons across the globe. As a part of migration governance, it coordinates humanitarian aid and protects human rights.

African Union

Topic: Countering Influence on the African Continent

The African Union (AU) was founded in 2002 and is composed by 55 African States. It aims to promote the political and economic development, security and peace on the continent through collaboration and integration. Delegates will emerge in discussions of the AU Peace and Security Council.

The House of Commons of the United Kingdom is the democratically elected house and lower chamber of the UK parliament, responsible for making laws, deciding taxes and checking the work of the government.

Topic: G20 Emergency Summit

The Ad-Hoc Committee drops delegates into an announced global crisis, with no preparation and just the ability to think on their feet. At the start, a scenario unfolds and as it evolves, delegates must work collectively to craft a shared resolution, without individual directives and actions, only joint solutions. Representing world leaders in a G20 Emergency Summit, delegates will experience a committee unlike any other due to its challenging and fast-paced dynamic.

The International Press Corps (IPC) is responsible for providing insights into FREIMUN26. Delegates step into the role of journalists and report on the happenings of one of our committees. They have the opportunity to actively shape debates by publishing articles, interviews and breaking news.

The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) is one of the main UN bodies tasked with the maintenance of international peace and security. This Committee will deal with pressing events of yesterday, today or tomorrow, making it perfect for experienced delegates.
